Home Steam Facial to increase circulation, cleanse pores & fight acne

A relaxing home steam facial benefits the skin in several ways, and it can be done at home with some hot water and a bowl. It does not require a trip to the spa. Benefits of a steam facial are that it improves circulation, hydrates dry skin, deep-cleans clogged pores and loosens blackheads. Clogged pores can cause skin irritation, infection and acne. Clogged pores are one of the top contributing factors to acne breakouts, no matter what your age is.

One of the best ways to cleanse your facial pores is by giving them a home facial steam followed by a facial mask treatment. Steam & then Mask or Cleanse for best cleansing results and is recommended for all of the CALM facial mask treatments and is especially effective for a deep pore cleansing mask like CALM Bentonite Green Tea.

Warm steam cleanses your pores by causing you to sweat, which opens the pores and helps push any dirt and debris out. Giving yourself a steam facial at home is simple and requires no specialized equipment. To prepare for your steam, wash your face with a gentle cleanser and then follow the directions below.

CALM Natural DIY Beauty Recipes

STEP 1

Boil 1 quart of water, Pour into shallow wide bowl and allow it to cool so that it's hot but no longer boiling, Add 3-6 drops of purifying essential oils like Rosemary.

STEP 2

Stand over the bowl with your face near the steam about 12 inches away and cover your head with a towel. You will create a steam tent by draping a large bath towel over your head. For 5-10 mins, inhale and exhale as you let the warm steam open up all your pores but stop sooner if you feel uncomfortable or have sensitive skin.

STEP 3

Then Mask to remove black heads that might have come to the surface.

TIP: In winter, it's recommended to steam every 2/3 weeks due to the harsh weather conditions your skin is generally losing moisture every day and excessive home steam facials will dry your skin out. In summer, if living in a high humidity area, home steam facials can be done every 1/2 weeks.

TIP: If you steam often and find this is not strong enough, then an electric steamer is suggested. They generally range in cost from 30-300 dollars.
