CALM as Citizen Diplomats for African Female Entrepreneurs
It was an honor for CALM to host the African Women's Entrepreneurship Program with WorldChicago. Six women entrepreneurs in skin care production from Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ghana, Morocco and Zimbabwe arrived at Healing Foundations to learn about being a female entrepreneur in America. These six women (part of a larger group of 40 women who are in other industries) were invited to the United States through the African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) with the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
We had a wonderful exchange of ideas about all natural and organic skincare and the wellness movement in the U.S. It was such a pleasure to meet some of the producers of shea and cocoa butters and argan oils and learn about their products. We look forward to furthering social and economic progress in their regions through female owned businesses and absolutely fabulous skincare.
